Turkey has everything you need for a fantastic summer vacation. The sun normally shines the whole day, and the beaches are great for stress-free. The nightlife doesnt stop until the morning, and the Turkeys kitchen is nominated as the third best in the world.
If you just want to relax, you can use the whole day on the beach. If you want some action, you can try one of the water sports: jet skiing, parasailing or the banana boat. Or you can just play a game of beach volleyball.
If you like to be active in your holiday, you can trek in the mountains or do some mountain- or ravine climbing. If water is more your element, Turkey does also has a lot of places for scuba diving, sea kayaking and rafting.
Alanya is without doubt the most popular vacation destination in Turkey, with 10 % of all Turkey holiday-makers staying here. The city does also have nice beaches and some interesting attractions. The most popular is the 250 meter (820 feet) castle hill, which divides the two beaches. From the top you can see Alanya and the surrounding area.
If you bring your children, a common attraction is the Water Planet Aquapark. It is one of Turkeys largest water theme parks with everything from rafting and water slides to bungee jumping and crazy golf. Alanya does also have a lot of shops with both real and faux branded goods. The night can be spent in the many discos and bars.
Antalya is not like the other vacation hotspots, which has developed from a small fisher town to a holiday destination. With its 500,000 residents you will see more locals than travelers. So a visit to Antalya will give you a better look at the real Turkey.
In Alanya you will discover a lot of shopping streets, centers and bazaars. But there are also a lot of amazing attractions. In the old town Kaleici you will discover a lot of traces of the Roman Empire. It is also a perfect place to see the typical Turkish daily life, where old women prepare the dinner while the men play dominoes.
The number one golf destination in Turkey is without doubt Belek. Eight golf courses can be found in the area; and many more are on their way. It can be required to book several months before the vacation, if you are going in the high season.
If you do not play golf, Belek is still a great place. Around the city there are fantastic nature and a silence, you cannot find in Alanya or Side. Bird lovers will also discover Belek a paradise. And the town does of course also have shopping and water theme parks.
Kemer might have the most gorgeous location in Turkey. Surrounded by the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains is this special place. The town does have a distinctive mix of the real Turkey and a modern vacation village. The town has an stylish marina, stunning beach promenades and lively pedestrian streets.
For some sightseeing you can visit the ruins of Phaselis; the winter location for Alexander the Great. Another amazing place (especially for the children) is the 55,000 m2 Moonlight Park in the middle of Kemer. Here you find a playground, restaurants, bars, discos; and even a dolphinarium
Even though Kusadasi is the typical fishing town which has developed into a vacation destination, it is not the typical vacation town. Here you find some of the best restaurants and more quit nightlife (with only a small bar street) than Side and Alanya.
Kusadasi has an international feeling because of the many cruise ship guests in the city, which arrives to see the famous sight Efesos (also named Efesus). So expect a lot of smart cafes and shops with global clothing brands.
The most romantic holiday vacation spot in Turkey might be Side. You will discover a lot of old Roman buildings in the old town. It is also possible to take a walk away from the main street, where you can see well-preserved wood and stone houses. Another interesting sight is the city theater; originally used for gladiator fights, but today you can watch concerts and theater.
